Q. How do I manage my email accounts?
A. We have a system called Plesk that allows you to manage your own email accounts.
- Go to https://yourdomainhere.com.au:8443
- If your asked a security question proceed to the website.
- Now enter your login & password, these are the same details you were sent in your account settings email.
If you can't remember your details, please contact us and we can re-issue them. - Once logged in, click "Home" on the left menu.
- Then click your website address located at the bottom of the page.
- then click "Mail"
- Now click "Show Aliases"
- Here you can change or add your email addresses.
Q. How do I add a new email account? (View Video Tutorial)

- Click the "Add new mail account" button.
- Mail account is your new email address, type in what you would like to have before the @ symbol.
- Choose a password longer than 5 characters.
- Leave the rest of the settings as is
- Press ok.
- You now need to setup this new email account on your computer, see below.
Q. How do I setup my email in MS Outlook?
A. To set up the accounts in your email program such as Outlook to retrieve the emails:
- In MS Outlook select the 'Tools' menu and then 'E-mail Accounts.'
- Select 'Add a new e-mail account' and click 'Next';
- Select 'POP3' and click 'Next';
- Enter Your Name (eg Mary Jones, or your business name)
Enter Your E-mail Address (eg mary@yoursite.com.au)
Enter Incoming mail server (POP3) as: mail. yoursite.com.au - Enter Outgoing mail server (SMTP) as: your internet provider. (if you are with bigpond it will be: mail.bigpond.com)
Enter the User Name and Password; and - Click 'Next'.
- Finish
Once your account has been setup, you can test it by sending yourself a test email.
Q. How do I setup my email in Outlook Express?
A. To set up the accounts in your email program such as Outlook Express to retrieve the emails.
- In Outlook Express select the 'Tools' menu and then 'Accounts';
- Select 'Add' > 'Mail'
- Enter Your Name (eg Mary Jones)

Q. How do I setup my email in Windows Vista Mail?
A. To set up the accounts in your email program.
- In Windows Vista Mail select the 'Tools' menu and then 'Accounts';
- Select 'Add' > 'Mail'
- Enter Your Name (eg Mary Jones)
Enter Your E-mail Address (eg mary@yoursite.com.au)
Select the incoming mail server as 'POP3'
Enter Incoming mail server (POP3) as: mail.yoursite.com.au
Enter Outgoing mail server (SMTP) as: your internet provider. (if you are with bigpond it will be: mail.bigpond.com)
Enter the User Name and Password; and - Click 'Next'.
- Click 'Finish'
- Close

Q. Can I check my email from another computer or overseas?
A. Yes, you can use a system called Webmail, it works by checking your email online, instead of downloading the messages to your computer.
- Type in http://webmail.yourwebsiteaddress.com.au Note there is no "WWW"
- Now enter your email address & password. If you can't remember your details, please contact us and we can re-issue them.
- Once logged in click on Inbox to read your email.
Q. Changing a email password in Plesk. (View Video Tutorial)
A. The instructions below will help you change the password in Plesk, you will still need to update the password in the email program on your computer (outlook express).
- Log in as above
- After you click mail, click on the email address you want to change
- Click on preferences
- Enter your new password
- Click ok.
Q. How does email marketing work?
To send advertisement emails to a database each email address owner must consent to receive your email, meaning they had to "Subscribe" to receive emails from your business.
The Australian spam act of 2003 states that each person in your database must:
- Consent to receive emails from you/your business.
- The email must identify who is sending the information, including your name, business name, phone number, address and ABN.
- Each email address owner must have the ability to unsubscribe from your emails. (notice in the email to say reply to unsubscribe)
If you were to say just email a bunch of local businesses without speaking with them first and they know their legal rights, you can be reported and fined $50,000.
Now that's the legal stuff taken care of...
What you can do is grab the yellow pages and phone the stores you want to target (they haven't got a spam act for phone sales yet). Ask who ever answers the phone for their name & store email address, explain you have a new product they may be interested in and "can I sent you some info by email".
Once you collect these names & emails you can add them to your email programs address book, layout your email (or we can design one for you), then send the emails.
